1. Flossing

Equally important is flossing daily to clean between teeth and along the gumline where your toothbrush can’t reach. Proper flossing technique involves gently sliding the floss between teeth, forming a C-shape around each tooth and moving it up and down to remove plaque and debris. This helps prevent cavities and gum disease in areas that brushing alone cannot effectively clean.

2. Brush Teeth

Firstly, brushing your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste is essential. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle, circular motions to clean all surfaces of your teeth and gums. Remember to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months or sooner if the bristles become frayed. This ensures effective plaque removal and reduces the risk of enamel erosion.

3. Mouth Wash

Incorporating mouthwash into your oral hygiene routine can provide additional benefits. Choose a mouthwash with fluoride to strengthen enamel and help prevent cavities. Use it after brushing and flossing, swishing it around your mouth for 30-60 seconds before spitting it out. However, mouthwash should not replace brushing or flossing as it is not as effective in removing plaque.

By following these simple tips and maintaining a consistent oral hygiene routine, you can ensure your teeth and gums stay healthy. Regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings are also important to detect any issues early and keep your smile bright and healthy for years to come.
